Our July 2000 Concert was held in aid of two local charities - the Portsmouth Samaritans and The Rheumatology Trust, QA Hospital. The concert featured ensemble items by Workshop, solos and duet and a set of ensembles played by hago.
We were delighted to welcome members of The Samaritans to our Concert, and to ensure that confidentiality was maintained at all times, they gave only their first names, to preserve the total integrity of The Samaritans in providing counselling completely free of constraint.
The Samaritans write
"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you in a personal way for the donation and for the interest shown in our work by yourself and your group
members. It is gratifying that we were able to help one of your group members - so often we do not hear a thing after the crisis is over. Do give my thanks
to all the members of your group and to the unnamed lady in your group"
